chronic illness
This is certainly an area that is important within the fibromyalgia community, and there are many with FMS that know a lot about this who hopefully will write. Many come here looking for information and have an open 'head' to learning about integrative medicine concepts, including digestive issues. Also, since we've been on Lumigrate the longest (those with FMS, likely are 'ahead of the game' and can make an impact on others with other diagnosis or with only GI problems! So I recommend we utilize this area here for talk about who we are and what our fibromyalgia read more »

I am going to speak on behalf of the Lumigrate Forum community. In the first 9 months of the website, the forum area about fibromyalgia has truly been one of the most impressive and pride-full things I've ever experienced. I don't have children but I know how parents have such a sense of pride when they see their kids doing something that has nothing more to do with the parent than they created the person. There are amazing, wise people -- mostly women -- who wrote in that area so far. And MUCH of what we were writing about had aspects to it that had to do with nutri read more »

Celiac Disease: "IBS, IBS, IBS .... it's BS!" (Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Dr. Oz Today)
Again, we know there are many people who do not have access to watching this important show today by Dr. Oz who can benefit from the information so we watched it and have partially transcribed and then highlighted the details of The Hidden Epidemic: When Bloating is a Sign of Something Toxic. read more »

In an allopathic medical building, which at the time was not doing any 'integration' aside from that I was coming up to the Behavioral Health and Wellness' meetings on a weekly basis and meeting about mutual patients or giving input on others that were challenging the 'what to do' experts, a little lesson was provided by the co-owner of the clinic, Cheryl Young, related to when something bad happens to someone, the process the person goes through, of shame/blame and the continuum they go through to get to 'letting it go'. read more »

Who ARE You, And WHAT is Lumigrate? Videos and MORE!
Whether meeting someone in person or on the internet through facebook, I am having to answer this question a lot lately. Which is great because it means people are finding out about us and are interested. Certainly, I refer people to look at Lumigrate.com's 'About Us' section (link below if you want to read later). We have free information --- the blogs are packed with links to VALID sources to learn more about topics you are interested in and we think are important. I get included in a lot of interesting information exchanges and have my read more »

The Way to a Provider's Heart is ... (Through the Stomach)
This topic was inspired by a gal who has become a follower of Lumigrate in the past few months and who, it turn out, is now hopefully contributing a great idea which you can read about. She has fibromyalgia (and kids and a husband and extended family) and she was commenting on how fortunate she feels to have a physician who is really able to help her, and he will even listen to her whine a little bit when she needs to. Having been a provider for many years, I know the 'business side' of things, so I was picturing the clinics I've been part of where the patients go home at 6 pm a read more »

Jacob Teitelbaum, MD Has Come 'From Fatigued to Fantastic'
"Feed me now or I'll kill you!" got a round of laughter from the crowd listening to Jacob Teitelbaum, MD, or 'Dr. T'. It certainly hit home for me. He broke things down in a very entertaining way, to the "SHINE Protocol" -- sleep, hormones, infections, nutrition, exercise. read more »
