Last Saturday I "jogged" (actually walk/jogged) in the Children's Hunger Fund Run/Walk in Salt Lake City while at USANA's International Convention. The day started just before dawn, filled with the excitement of thousands of people running through the streets of Salt Lake City, raising $125,000 for children in need all around the world. read more »

"Thank goodness you're on disability!!", a chiropractor said to me yesterday.
Thank goodness? That my income is a third what it used to be? That I can barely function some days? That I'm still grieving the loss of the career I'd always wanted? What was I to 'thank goodnessing' for again?? read more »

Anyone who suffers with fibromyalgia is all too familiar with the 'medication merry-go-round' to rid themselves from unrelenting pain. Sometimes, different 'cocktails' may help for a while only to lose their effectiveness after a period of time. However, there are a number of self-care practices that can help to manage the pain of fibromyalgia that do not involve the use of medications.

Mardy's note: I copied this in the summer of 2010 from it's original place in the Fibro Awareness forum here at Lumigrate so that it is ALSO located here to be caught here as well. In two months it had gotten almost 2,000 reads, and by year's end it had just over 3,000 in that original location, as well as the hundreds it had here. That's really VERY rewarding and inspiring, and tells us what you like to have on Lumigrate.com! And from there, we develop in the present and that turns into the future, which you are then a part of forming. read more »
Today one of the Grate Group is talking about using a donut for sitting and being limited at her time on the computer. "I hear ya, sista!" but perhaps my background as an occupational therapist which included doing some wheelchair positioning (whether I liked it or not, long story there about education and changes and employers' expectations) combined with my EMPATHY about pain with sitting can pan out for you. read more »

I copied this from a blog post I made in the summer of 2009 so that it would be easily 'findable' here in this new Forum area --- as Lumigrate has grown we're shifting and growing where the needs are presented. Please remember the "print" and "e-mail" buttons, below, are great tools for you to be able to share things with people YOU might want to turn onto information! Thanks so much ~~ Mardy
