What does stress have to do with Fibromyalgia?

I hope everyone is doing well.  This year has started full on into it as I busily work on writing the content for my new Foods for Fibromyalgia website in addition to our main site and along with running a busy practice.    read more »

"Resolutioners", "Goalees", The Year SO FAR?! SuperBowl Me!

Mardy Ross's picture

As the "American" football season wraps up with the Superbowl this weekend (which is historically a day people gather 'round and watch the NEW BIG and EXPENSIVE commercials and snack in what maybe we could call the 'foodball season grand finale' before spring, I thought I'd run with the ball related to something my favorite 'foodie', Pablo Blanco mentioned last night when we got together for chili and talk about recipes and the "Lumigrate test kitchen".  I actually thought I was going to help with a 'glueup' with his latest woodworking project, as I u  read more »

BEST Enema Recipe Ever!

Having suffered with IC, CFS, IBS, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain for over a decade, and having to take increasing amounts of narcotic pain medications, antispasmotics and other medications that interefere with normal bowel functioning, a very simple, albeit messy, recipe for an enema was introduced to me during a hospital stay this last year. As you may know, a bowel full of feces can likely increase pain and cause other symptoms such as urinary retention.  read more »

Sleep Dysfunction

Hello again,

I have just completed a blog  entry on Sleep Dysfunction.  Although it is with regards to ME/CFS, the information may be useful to individuals hwo have sleep dysfunctions associated with Fibromyalgia.

Feel free to add yourself to the blog list, to pass it on to others, or even just copy the information within it and use to educate yourself and those around you, including, of course, your medical team.

IBS, Leaky Gut, Healing the Gut

This is certainly an area that is important within the fibromyalgia community, and there are many with FMS that know a lot about this who hopefully will write.  Many come here looking for information and have an open 'head' to learning about integrative medicine concepts, including digestive issues.  Also, since we've been on Lumigrate the longest (those with FMS,  likely are 'ahead of the game' and can make an impact on others with other diagnosis or with only GI problems!  So I recommend we utilize this area here for talk about who we are and what our fibromyalgia  read more »

Here in the US, it is the last playoff game before the Superbowl (in what I am learning from my international friends I should specify as 'American' football.  It's going to go into overtime which is a relief because everything's been really quiet while the game is on and my experience has shown this 'American football season' that people then hop on the Internet after the games are over.  I actually am hoping to get the phone call to my family in that I thought would happen much earlier today, and I have a plan to talk with someone on the phone or Skype this evening or next.&nbsp  read more »

Facebook and Fibromyalgia "Activists" - Ideas, Organization, Synergy!

Fibro Awareness Day is in May and last year that fell about a month after Lumigrate launched.  It was an exciting day for us because of facebook!  It has been my observation that many people are out there looking for information and somehow missing the good resources that are on the Internet.  People had spent tons of time online and hadn't heard of some of the basic information that could have really helped them.  So I want to start providing solutions about that, and offer Lumigrate as a place for people "active" in the fibromyalgia community to come and  read more »

Hello from New Zealand!

Hello,

My name is Emma-Kate, I am from New Zealand and I have been invited here, by Mardy, to discuss FMS a little.  I posted a blog entry about it the other day, and it's a subject I would like to retun to in the near future.

I have ME/CFS, with associated pain since I was 13 (I was also born with Cerebral Palsy), I am now 28 and although I remain unwell, I work a little as an Occupational Therapist, and an awareness education teacher, including giving the occasional lecture at our local medical school, and university.  read more »
