The Season of Lent is upon us. Because I live where Mardi Gras originated in the USA., I have huge reminders to prepare for Lent. Today is FAT TUESDAY (Mardi Gras Day) or the day before Ash Wednesday. I think I am ready, I've considered it carefully, I have explored the options and I have a plan.
I decided what I can successfully "give up". I will give up something that will not cause any harm, something I really like, so it will be a sacrifice, and something that will ultimately cause a beneficial lifestyle change.

Compliant. Complacent. Committed? Which am I?
I had the pleasure of turning fifty this past week, with Easter being two days later, and it made me think about 'habits', as I was Chatting with someone on facebook about their Passover meals and why they don't change what they serve in accordance with what they know are the foods that are contributing or causing health problems. My own family has, over the last fifteen years since I had IgG food allergy testing done, realized that they were also not good with wheat, and they have completely removed wheat from their eating, even on holidays. read more »

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Open House
In the last few days I've had a conversation with an old friend who stubbornly opposes spending more money on organic or more wholesome food because she doesn't believe anything she hears about it being better for you, and we laughed and I think 'how can two people so different be such good friends' and then yesterday I stopped in at a local salon which was having an open house and found that virtually everyone there was aware of foods to some degree or another, and health AND they have an interest in learning more! On my way to the open house, I stopped by Vitamin Cottage a read more »

I loved this teleseminar! Holy guacamole does she download a LOT of amazing information. I'm a fast typist and I couldn't keep up to make some notes, but I thought if I did a little summary recap of it, you might be inclined to take the time to learn here from Deirdre and follow the link to her website and get involved if it resonates for you. Dr. Lepisto and Dr. Rollins started collaborating about this topic in the year before I met both of them, which was 2006. Anyone who in proximity of Dr. Lepisto will hear his underlying belief that 'food is your first medicine' and it also therefore can be the "bad medicine" and thing making you sick and you don't even know it! read more »
I established two areas for starters here in the Nutrition area of the Forums on Lumigrate.com and now have modified things a bit so am hoping to catch people where they are looking. Please know there is a general 'Nutrition' area for everyone no matter if they have food allergies or eat a particular way, and it has all kinds of recipes from people, and mostly from before they became aware of food allergies and changed how they were eating OR they did modifications to make them healthier if they knew those concepts already. They were very popular in the fall of 2009. That read more »
