Do YOU Have to Weather the Weather?

Here's a link to where I set up a topic about weather-related issues within the Fibromyalgia Forum area.  Please follow it over there and then if you want to write, you can either write there (in more the pod of people with fibromyalgia) or come back here and write here!  Many people with chronic pain do NOT have fibromyalgia -- chronic headaches, back pain, knee pain, shoulder, etc.  Please tell others about your experiences here IF you want.  Many, many are reading and learning.  Thanks!  Mardy  read more »

Do You Weather the Weather? Howl at the Moon?

Prior to my returning to Colorado State University to complete my occupational therapy degree, I worked for a research project which was next to the Colorado Climate Center.  They were studying the effects of weather on people with chronic pain and generally I recall they found the symptoms started BEFORE the drop in barometric pressure!    read more »

Support Groups -- Add Yours! (or find one)

We had someone post their support group on the facebook page, which is fine except it disappears pretty quickly from view.  SO, I created this Topic area in Lumigrate.com's Forum / Fibromyalgia area for those to be deposited.  So you'll basically be 'adding on' under this, and in the Subject line, I suggest we organize it by having you just put: Country, State, Region / City / Town (however you think people will look in your area).   read more »

Opioid Induced Constipation

One of my dearest friends, Johan, is in the hospital recovering from being hit by a car while he was riding his bike. Knowing that I deal with pain on a daily basis, he called me asking for tips on a number of things. Fibromyalgia: An "Integrative Medicine" Approach

Mardy Ross's picture

This week in the United States, many of us are tuned into PBS (Public Broadcasting System) for a new documentary series by Ken Burns, titled 'The National Parks: America's Best Idea'.   The National Park Service (NPS) is partially responsible for your reading these words right now, because as a 24 year old I was hired to assist a "seasoned" researcher the NPS had just harvested from the Environmental Protection Agency.  "Wild Bill" Malm had just turned 40 and I was recommended to him because of my previous work with a similar project an  read more »

FUNny Thing Happened.....on the Way to the Fibromyalgia Circus!

I'm setting this area up for people with fibromyalgia to come and write those FUNNY stories we all have been sharing on facebook lately so that they are recorded for many many people to see over time, instead of the way they disappear in the stream on Lumigrate Webucation's facebook page.   Humor is such a part of coping for many people, and while there also are topics here for 'venting' and 'crying' and 'learning' and different specific topics (such as 'family and friend support and education) in order to help people who are searching for information more readily utilize our  read more »

Family and Friends... Fibromyalgia is ......

This area is inspired by the suggestions and requests of people today using Lumigrate.com ... some of which I have not had the pleasure of personally meeting yet and ONE which I have the the pleasure of saying was one of my former patients prior to her moving away.  At the time this real-world person was working with me, Dr.  read more »
