Family and Friends... Fibromyalgia is ......

This area is inspired by the suggestions and requests of people today using Lumigrate.com ... some of which I have not had the pleasure of personally meeting yet and ONE which I have the the pleasure of saying was one of my former patients prior to her moving away.  At the time this real-world person was working with me, Dr. Young and I were formulating what would later become the Fibromyalgia Forum (named by this particular patient, as I recall) and she had requested we have something on a weekend for family to attend, as our meetings were on Thursdays at 4 (determined by the restrictions of the realities of the building schedule and the provider schedule).  It's SO hard to get people in the same place at the same time anymore, and it just seemed infinitely more beneficial to have a website and, while there are tradeoffs of 'in person', at LEAST there is SOMETHING that most people can grasp onto.  Rather than maybe a handfull or two people being able to come in Grand Junction, Colorado every week or hoping to get a Saturday at 1 room and speaker arranged that about 20% of people could realistically attend, we can hope that eventually a handfull or two THOUSAND people will cross this area and benefit from it.  I'll hope that our medical experts will also pass through here and write something that will all help us, and I'll invite myself to be one of them (grins).  This is obviously a VERY needed area, so thank you for inspring it along the way today and in years past....   ~ ~ Mardy
