Fibromyalgia Awareness Day 2010
This is our second year on the Internet -- it turns out that Lumigrate.com launched last March, just six weeks or so before the first organized fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue awareness day. It was a really neat day as I recall, buzzing around facebook and introducing myself and having something like Lumigrate to introduce people to. read more »

For 20 years, I have treated aging women with bioidentical estrogens (mostly estriol and estradiol), and have seen excellent results in brain function. I tell all my patients that estrogens prevent dementias such as Alzheimer's disease in women, and testosterone prevents it in men.

As part of the Lumigrate collaborative effort for raising awareness this year about FMS/CFS, On Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 a very special conversation on Addressing Fibromyalgia's Pain, Insomnia, Fog 'n' Fatigue with Integrative Approaches took place and was recorded and hosted by Deirdre Rawlings, ND, PhD at her website about foods for fibromyalgia. (The link is provided here as well as the bottom -- we encourage people to take a minute to review this introductory discussion in order to get people in the fibromyalgia awareness community 'on the same read more »

All right. This is a story I have long put off telling, not through reticence but time. I was asked, by Mardy, to tell about what I had discovered about my own fibromyalgia and what has worked for me. Firstly, I was not very accepting of this problem, this "syndrome." I began my dance with chronic pain fairly young. Up until I was about sixteen, in fact, I was doing fairly well. Then I fell off the stage onto the back of my head. About the same time, I was struck in the jaw by a baseball. My sensior year I was in a rollover accident. read more »

Compliant. Complacent. Committed? Which am I?
I had the pleasure of turning fifty this past week, with Easter being two days later, and it made me think about 'habits', as I was Chatting with someone on facebook about their Passover meals and why they don't change what they serve in accordance with what they know are the foods that are contributing or causing health problems. My own family has, over the last fifteen years since I had IgG food allergy testing done, realized that they were also not good with wheat, and they have completely removed wheat from their eating, even on holidays. read more »

I'm having a nice conversation today with someone who is learning about supplements for fibromyalgia and recalled the day many years ago when I knew that magnesium was important but I didn't know a lot about the subject and was going to a nationwide company that sold supplements that didn't do a really good job of selecting quality products. So the day I found out about the following product at a store in Denver that NOW has online ordering (and they're as ethical and wonderful as they say they are, is my experience), things got a LOT better for me and my muscles. So here's a li read more »

I put up a post today at the Health Matters Show on Cleaning Up Your Health. Whether we're talking about cleaning up our health or just cleaning out closets for spring, that phrase "cleaning up" implies some sort of exercise. read more »
In the first year of Lumigrate.com being on the Internet, the Your Story 'topic' within the general Fibromyalgia Forum, where I initially placed it on the 2009 Fibromyalgia Awareness Day due to so many people wanting to share their stories, had over 800 reads! Considering I've intentionally kept the people who know about Lumigrate kind of 'to ourselves' in order to provide time for close friendships of other people with it and networks professionally to develop, that let me know that it's an area that is deserving of it's own Forum. For 2010's Awareness, we'll hope to 'open read more »
Mardy's Note: I'm updating this in 2012 to not be so confusing to those coming currently, as we move forward at Lumigrate.com. Like any 'being' or 'system', Lumigrate 'is organic' and changes, and it ends up being somewhat confusing and I want to remove as much of that as possible so people can spend their time and energy to find the best information and providers/solutions available. read more »
