Father's Day is today, the first one since my father passed nine and a half months ago.  He died on Labor Day, the ultimate irony since he was the hardest worker.  He worked at everything, even at having fun. Hikes or walks on the flatlands were monitored for how many miles per hour, ski runs were evaluated on the way back up on the lift, people were evaluated after parting from spending time together.  read more »

I had a day yesterday that made me think a lot.  For starters, I worked all morning on statistics about health care trends and then met with the marketing/business development specialist who is helping me pull things together the way I want them to be but haven't mastered myself yet. She had a fascinating perspective on the Internet and alternative/complementary medicine, which I hope she'll get onto Lumigrate and write about at some point.  read more »

Today is May 19th, the last day of our 2011 Fibromyalgia Awareness Day contest.  There are many contributions and they are ALL REALLY GOOD.  'GRATE' as we say around here!  Since we do fibromyalgia awareness EVERY DAY, all day at Lumigrate.com, and have been, 365 days a year, for over two years now, this year I wanted to bring it back 'home' -- that's been my theme for 2011 is to spend equal time in my own community which has AMAZING providers and people who have FMS, and 'inteGRATE' them with the equally amazing nation-wide providers.  read more »

This is the THIRD year that Lumigrate has been in existence and participating in 'Fibromyalgia Awareness Day', which is a long-standing event started in the UK back in the late 1990s.  Florence Nightingale's birthday is used as the date every year because she is believed to have spent the last 30 years of her life very affected and limited by chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia syndrome.  I've included something about that in the Forums, Fibromyalgia section, Awareness forum, if you'd like to read about that and go to a website which has good information about the history.<  read more »

I've had a lot of meetings lately with people about Lumigrate.  The first year was focused on getting core people on facebook to know about it/me.  The second year I focused on getting a nation-wide "net" cast of professionals and then as we headed to begin our third year I oped to bring things back to my 'home town' of Grand Junction, Colorado and focus on connecting the local 'homeys' with Lumigrate's nation-wide 'net'.  Then once we're al grouped up reasonably well, we'll be doing a marketing campaign to let as many people know as possible about Lumigrate.com and  read more »

Well, it once again is Ground Hog Day in the US -- the day we turn our media spotlight to see if a rodent's shadow is seen or not which indicated whether there will be six more weeks of 'winter' or not; there's a 39% accuracy rate on it by the way.   read more »

2011 has gotten well underway and today, January 25th, is the annual State of the Union.  I'm providing the White House's website link for anyone who wants to follow it.  I found many interesting facts there on this visit and it's always nice to be reminded of the history.  My mother impressed upon me the importance of learning history as it's a key piece to planning for the future.  I personally am working currently to be in the present.  To BE.  So far, so good.   read more »
