Lumigrate's overall goal is to to provide valid, progressive, streamlined and FUN information about 'integrative medicine' and to provide leads to other information if people want to study more in depth. Since our launch in early 2009 with videos which pertain to fibromyalgia, the Forums have evolved to amass a bewildering amount of information. So this is the 'starting point' or 'bullseye' to come back to, refer others, etc.

Dr. Spurlock of Dallas, TX has specialized with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue as a long-termer within 'anti-aging', formerly was with Fibro/Fatigue Centers and continues in Enviromental Medicine. Through him, Mardy became aware of ITC Compounding and Natural Wellness Pharmacy in her home state of Colorado, ironcially. They have overlapping and differing ways of going about things, which provides welcome diversity with consistency of overall paradigm. We hope much learning comes from these pages.

Here's the place to read about others' journey with fibromyglia (theirs or a family or friends'), and for you to write yours. Writing can allow you to focus more on the present and future, leaving the past in a place you can direct people to if they want to read about it. This can be helpful to body, mind, spirit healing and going forward.

Yenta was created in the fall of 2009 and made her grand entrance on facebook and Lumigrate.com on Thanksgiving week and has been universally loved and very popular. We're hoping MANY more come write about spirituality and we're going to spin Yenta to her own Kibutz. (Right word, Yenta?)

Alice discovered Lumigrate early on and has integrated the progressive health information with her spiritual centeredness and by the end of 2009 was on the road to higher health. She started writing about it in spring of 2010, inspiring a new Forum by invited contributors to write about their process with chronic illness.

Chronic pain is different than 'acute' pain and that is where much of the problems many have today in having appropriate treatment. Many treatments provided to people by well-meaning providers end up not working and making things worse overall. Doctors are used to treating acute pain. Therapists are used to treating orthopedic not musculo-skeletal and systemically caused pain conditions. Consumer/patients go away feeling angry, distrusting, and 'used and abused' financially and emotionally when this occurs. This forum is to provide information to be utilized in tandem with the medication/pain forum for those who are interested or solo for those who use other strategies for pain remediation.
