My 3 Step, 3 Ingredient Tonic for GRATE Health and Joints

(chose organic when possible, or the best quality you can obtain)

1. In a food-safe 1 quart container (being aware about plastics which leach out toxins; glass is ideal if you can manage it, or mix a batch spread into smaller, more manageable containers:

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (with the "mother", which will give it a cloudy appearance and have sediment in the bottom. This is often filtered out, don't consume this type if you're looking for health benefits from vinegar){Bragg's is a well-known brand name, available at most health stores and a growing number of other stores, as they are responding to the consumer demands for these types of products! Keep up the good work, consumers!}
  • 1/2 cup pure cherry juice
  • Fill the rest (of the quart or other containers) with apple juice.

2. Store in refrigerator.

3. Drink 4 ounces of this tonic, twice daily.

And enjoy the health benefits of your investment.

Why, you may ask, these ingredients?

Cherries in all forms help with all kinds of pain. Tart cherry seems to be especially good.

ACV: Apple cider vinegar is a naturally fermented product that has many nutrients for our joints, when unfiltered. The precipitate formed naturally in the process is called "The Mother". The ACV is also helpful in digesting our food, and helps create an alkaline environment in our bodies.

Apple juice is great at diluting and making these tonics more palatable. Apple Cider Vinegar may be too tart for many people by itself, not mixed with something else.

If you are going to consume vinegar without it being mixed in this tonic, 2 Tbsp (tablespoons) is enough. Again, be sure it has 'the mother' in it.

Question: Apple cider vinegar gives me indigestion and heart burn.

Answer: That likely means your stomach is too acidic or has an increased amount of acid.  Try 1 tsp. of baking soda (with no aluminum) in water once or twice a day!

Follow up Question: Does that have to do with why I can't wear metal jewelry or watches?

Answer: Try the baking soda, again being careful it's without aluminum, and eat more fruits and vegetables! Put lemon in your water, this increases the acid in the water which leads to a more alkaline environment in the body.  And drink the right amount of water.

Question: What if I don't like cherry juice, can I use  'real cherry' flavored cola?

Substitutes for the cherry juice include pomegranate or grape juice. The same pain benefits will not be seen, but the other benefits are still the same.

Those types of products are not 'really' cherry at all.  Please never use sodas or diet drinks of any kind if you care about your health. The aspartame poisons any positive effect the tonic may have. You may find more that I've written about diet drinks/diet soda at this link at Lumigrate: I hope you'll read it if you're a consumer of such products.

 www.lumigrate.com/forum/diet-soda-harmful

Thank you for the great questions!

So funny that you'd post

So funny that you'd post this, Dr Spurlock, I have been working lately, as you know, on 'alkalinizing' my body, which means more acids in what one consumes. I don't like lemon on my fish, I don't like vinegar on my vegetables, and so this tonic recipe is, in Mary Poppins' language, the proverbial 'spoonful of sugar that makes the medicine go down'.

I want to provide a couple of links for people who want more information:

Related to the toxins and plastic, our cancer education at Lumigrate.com surrounds toxin reduction and prevention, and I selected Cancer Schmantzer at the organization to link to. That is 'The Nanny', actress Fran Drescher's organization, and it wasn't just because she utilizes humor but because she broke it down really well: Make one purchase change each time you go to the store. That link is:

www.lumigrate.com/forum/cancers-95-most-are-environment-change-what-you-put-your-mouth-skin-use-your-home

And then another link is the "gut" of our Forums, literally about the gut and gastro-intestinal tract, where people will find not only information on curing chronic acid indigestion by using vinegar for acid indigestion, from RPh (with an additional degree as an N.D) Alan Jolly, but liver detoxification and overall GI support.

The only thing I like to see more than two providers at Lumigrate.com saying the same thing, is when they say slightly or very different things, because it underscores the core concept of 'this form of health information and medicine'. We're not in the allopathic medical model/world here, where one thing is the right answer for everyone. We also aren't in the land of "one thing causes a condition"(which the allopathic model has created our society to believe, which is very reductionistic and 'convergent' in it's approach) -- rather, in our functional medicine approach, many things contribute to a person's state of health going from chronically well to having a chronic illness condition or conditions, and sometimes people have slightly different symptoms and conditions too! This is difficult for people to understand sometimes, until they realize that we're following a different model here.

It means that more time and thought has to go into solving problems, which ultimately means that, for best results, the consumer/patient has and increased role.  And that's what The You! Model is about, naturally.                                                                                                                                                 (And naturally, it was easier when we had one doctor/provider, too! Perhaps people will find the ultimate wellness solutions that work for them and have something that simple! We can hope, and we can hope that Lumigrate's linking to the various providers we do simplify things for YOU (all!).

That link (for the gut/GI forum) is: www.lumigrate.com/forums/health-issuesdis-eases/gastrointestinal-gi-issues-and-solutions-gut-things

I trust this information is very helpful to people; so many people are looking to the simpler and 'real' solutions, and it's a priviledge to provide them! ~~ Mardy

What About Tooth Enamel? GRATE Question!

I decided to ask a variety of workers at the 'healthier food market' if they knew what was in the 'amalgam fillings' that so many people have in their mouths and heads. Not one of them knew, but the neat thing was, the one overseeing the produce area was mid 20s and hadn't had one cavity EVER! A worker who was bagging my purchases said she'd had just unbelievable dental problems as a child, basically no enamel on any teeth and extensive dental restoration along the way. Interestingly, the people in line behind me had just been to a weekly meeting of their essential oil company they distribute in a direct / multi-level marketing way and knew a LOT about what can cause that type of extreme enamel problem. It was a moment of 'wow, I'm glad I asked' and what I found overall was that the employees were very bright bulbs who could likely benefit from some education, they seemed open to it. Hopefully their company will do something along those lines for them.

In the mean time, for all of us (them included if they find this topic and Lumigrate.com, same as anyone else), I thought I'd offer this information and then ask Lumigrate's 'dentist expert', holistic dentist Jim Kennedy, DDS, to give his opinions and add anything else to the mix. Since we're now really talking about things having to do with the head / cranium, I also want to remind people of the forum that's concentrated on dental and things to do with the head. People and all things are best addressed holistically -- the whole -- and not segmented up but the reality is that in order to study anything and categorize then there have to be sections and organizing them is a challenge because of the 'overlap'.  For now, let's just continue on here, shall we? This tonic recipe is being well-received/read! Thank you again, Dr Spurlock. Naturally, your opinions if you're up on stuff about enamel and pH, or all of this is welcome and encouraged, as always! ~~ Mardy

From: cookitallergyfree.com/blog/2012/06/do-you-have-tooth-enamel-issues-related-to-celiac-disease/# (please go to the source and look around, it's always better there, and you get to know of the neat websites that I have found and think are good resources to follow along out to ....)

Well, I have 9 Ways to Strengthen Your Tooth Enamel NATURALLY!

I am sharing this post today because we have spent the last two years focusing on this in our house, thanks to the damage that Celiac Disease has caused to my son’s teeth.

My husband also has tooth enamel issues (since he, too, has Celiac Disease that went undiagnosed for much of his life) …but he does not like me talking about his pearly…uh, whites. So just forget now that I even mentioned him here.

Only a couple of years ago, my son’s teeth were not in the best shape due to the tooth enamel defects that we have since learned can be caused by Celiac Disease.

When you are suffering from issues such as Celiac Disease, food intolerances, and conditions that tend to affect your nutrient absorption, you are at risk for de-mineralization of your tooth enamel. When the digestive system is impaired, it does not properly release vital minerals into the body for use by the teeth in building enamel.

So, unfortunately, my oldest son suffered from quite a few dental carries and other dental issues, despite being gluten-free and having impeccable tooth care skills.

And then, one morning, over two years ago, after he woke up with a horribly infected tooth and his cheeks looking like this…

Plug ins didn't come with, so again, follow the link to the website and see the photo, poor guy ... look at the undereye area, not looking 'well' for sure!

And, after having to have the little bugger that was causing the nasty infection yanked out…(the penny is to show size comparison – oh. And don’t look if you’re squeamish),

Again, photo is good graphic in the story at the website's link

I decided I was going to go on a mission to do something about it.

So after endless research, visits with holistic dentists, and copious note-taking…I wanted to share with you some of the important steps that you can take to try and re-mineralize your teeth (or your child’s) and strengthen the enamel.

And I also wanted to let you know that these steps have worked for us. My son’s (and husband’s…shh) teeth are in wonderful shape and health now.

This is just a basic breakdown – there is so much more and the science behind it is actually very fascinating, but I will just leave you with the basics of what can help in this process, since I am sure that is what you are looking for anyway.

Did you know that your tooth enamel is 96% mineral content and is the strongest substance in the human body?

Unfortunately, this enamel can easily be leeched out through poor diet, lack of nutrient absorption due to digestive damage, or from acidic environments in the mouth.

Acidic foods and drinks are the worst for tooth enamel. They slowly dissolve some of the minerals out of your enamel every day.

Some foods that are known to promote enamel loss and are important to avoid are:

  • Coke and other Sodas/Soft Drinks – due, not only to the sugar, but also the phosphoric acid present
  • Candy – an obvious one
  • Processed Foods: Cookies, Muffins, Refined Sugars, High Fructose Corn Syrup  - due to the starch that is difficult to break down and then causes more acid to be present in the mouth.
  • Hydrogenated Oils and Margarines
  • Coffee (Ack..I know-this one pains me)
  • Alcohol and Tobacco
  • Pasteurized Milk
  • Artificial Sweeteners
  • Breads and Cereals – it is the phytic acid that is present in these that blocks the absorption of minerals and causes the issues (sprouting your grains, nuts, and seeds will help to reduce this problem)
  • Commercial Toothpastes – for many reasons, but sodium lauryl sulfate, glycerin, and flouride are just a few.

But, here is the good news. There are ways to actually strengthen the enamel and re-mineralize it. With a little dedication and some information tucked under your belt, you can begin the process NOW!

Steps known to promote enamel GROWTH and are therefore important to add into your diet and lifestyle are:

  • Keep teeth clean using tooth soaps OR try a Homemade Toothpaste Recipe
  • Encourage saliva production and keep the mouth moist – oil pulling is a good method for this – it helps eliminate toxic dental bacterial and also stimulates the salivary glands. Saliva helps to coat teeth and also contains trace minerals that will aid in the remineralization process
  • Ensure that you have adequate levels of Vitamin D in your diet – D provides the proper balance of calcium and phosphorus to support mineralization. Pure fermented cod liver oil, krill oil, salmon, other fatty fish, and egg yolks are good sources. For Vegan sources – sunshine, UV-irradiated mushrooms, yeast, fortified foods, and D3  supplements are all options.
  • Ensure that you have adequate levels of Vitamin K2 in your diet – K2 is essential for bone growth and mineral absorption. High Vitamin Butter (raw pastured is ideal) High Vitamin Butter Oil, Marrow, Egg Yolks, Chicken Liver Pate, and Hard Cheeses are good non-Vegan Sources. For Vegan sources- Supplements or Natto (requires an acquired palate) are options.
  • Ensure that you have adequate levels of Vitamin C in your diet – C ensures strong gum health. Good sources are papaya, bell peppers, strawberries, broccoli, pineapple, brussels sprouts, kiwi, kale, and oranges.
  • Homemade Bone Broth – true bone broths are full of calcium, gelatin, and minerals that are easily absorbed by the body for bone growth and are wonderful for re-mineralization and encourage enamel growth.
  • Traditional Sea Salt - not processed table salt. True sea salt contains many trace minerals that are vital to bone and enamel growth.
  • Traditional Fermented Foods – contain high levels of natural probiotics, which are wonderful for balancing out the good bacterial in the mouth. Good sources are  homemade sauerkraut, kombucha, natto, pickled vegetables, kefir, and Water Kefir
  • Add more Strawberries into your diet – not only because they are high in Vitamin C and antioxidants, but also because they have a natural exfoliating effect due to the malic acid content. The malic acid helps to whiten teeth while removing harmful tartar.

So…if you have suffered from dental/enamel problems because of absorption or diet-related issues, you may want to try some of the above steps.

It is not an overnight process. It takes time and diligence and consistency since your tooth enamel is in a constant state of flux between demineralizing and remineralizing. But the best part of the above steps is that every one of them also benefit your health in so many other ways as well!

Now..tell me. Have you suffered any dental issues that you think may be related to your food intolerances or Celiac Disease?

Another GRATE ?: What about reversing carries/cavities?

For the experts who are going to possibly contribute opinions here (which I've sent out the invitations for), what about reversing enamel that's actually into a cavity? Oil pulling's been what came to mind for those in the conversation (this is feeding off of something I commented on at a Facebook friend's wall, a GMO expert about to embark to law school as the next professional step related the the food industry and wellness /healing for people).

But the person asking was hoping for a solution for a 3 year old who perhaps too young for oil pulling. (Notice, OIL PULLING is one of the links in what I posted of the 9 things the woman from CookItAllergyFree shared in this great blog post. I loved the website she links to for the DIY toothpaste recipe, it's about getting your body more naturally well in order to promote fertility. I just LOVE to see wanna be or current mothers onto this type of information and living! Thanks, guys! ~~ Mardy

Oral Heath and Oil Pulling ... and other tonic options

Hi guys, I love the comments, but as an Integrative Health professional who is a vegan, I have long fought a lot of bias and misinformation, not to mention officially being reported by our school dentist unit because they could not agree with my parenting methods.

Anyway, thanks to an unknown bacterial/pathogenic imbalance, my two older children were inadvertently implanted with an awful infestation courtesy of their dad giving them a dummy after 'cleaning' it with his own saliva at various times. As we chose natural options for everything, we didn't think twice about Dad's saliva!

I've never known anyone who worked so hard on his dental health, yet I watched his teeth crumble to almost non existence - being raised on a dairy farm, he swore by the raw milk myth. As a result, he had high mucous/slime levels throughout his body, body odour, bad breath and not just porous teeth, but bones as well.

Interestingly, with the twins who came much later, in fact immediately prior to our divorce, they never had the tainted dummy put into their mouths - and continue to grow sans dental decay.

With my eldest, almost as soon as her teeth crowned, they blackened and broke off. It was a constant source of frustration as I had one too many detractors who were all mysteriously health and nutrition experts when it came to my parenting. Thankfully I discovered Homeopathic Kreosotum (coal tar but diluted and succussed sufficiently to no longer be toxic). I watched her teeth remineralise and smooth off almost overnight. Considering she was raised vegetarian, non toxic toothpaste (more on that later) and no/low sweets. etcetera, it was so frustrating.

By the time the second baby came along I was sure I had answers --- but nope; one visit to the dentist and she needed half a dozen fillings! So once again, Kreosotum back on the medicine menu. Thankfully my girls all now have strong healthy teeth, but it wasn't without a lot of effort.

In more recent years, now a high raw food, vegan, alkalarian, I am constantly at loggerheads with dental/health experts who recommend certain foods we simply cannot digest or utilise -- bones, dairy, etc. We simply cannot take what is needed from animal product. We neither have the enzymes nor system requirements to do so. While I have often made my own toothpastes over the years, I have found one that actually does remineralise enamel and toughen dentine.

Part of our dental program is oil pulling, as mentioned above. I can't recommend this Ayurvedic remedy enough - for loose teeth, compromised enamel, decay, bad breath, and even parasites. Interestingly, one of my recent sources of frustration is the move by unethical dental product manufacturers to rave about fighting acidity. But rather than just say to stay away from high fruit and sugar, they should be talking about getting the entire body alkaline. Do they honestly think the mouth is a separate entity to the body? haha

High intake of dark green foods, high quality, healthy salt (here in Australia I recommend Himalayan/sea/Celtic salt), and regardless of your diet, optimum superfoods and nutrients should be considered.

I have my own preferred tonics I promote and distribute (alkaline, synergistic, anti inflammatory, anti ageing); you are welcome to follow my blog ( chrysalisintegratedhealth.org ) and thanks again, Mardy, for the invitation to comment here.

GRATE to Get Your Input About Animal Products; Salt Details

Is that what we'd call a 'pacifier' here in the US? "Binkie" many people call them, slang. I believe in Canada they're called 'soothers' maybe... So intersting simple words like that which are different in our English-speaking countries. Eh? (Grins -- Canada joke, I say 'eh?' a lot because I think it's a great word and have an ex who was from Canada, so I picked it up from him way back when, I was in OT school, a long time ago.)

And I'm glad to hear you say that as that wasn't my favorite part of that resource I pulled and posted, but it sure had a lot of things that I thought looked like overall good information.  When it comes to salt, I've heard that sea salt now can sometimes have quality problems (so much out there in the oceans anymore, so much variety from place to place and it moves around, obviously), so it's preferable to get salts that re from land and taken from what were ancient seas which dried up long ago.

Here in the United States there is the famous Salt Lake in Utah, and there are reasonably priced and high quality salt that can be purchased mined/produced there. It's pink but not quite as saturated / dark as Himalayan brand (but a fraction of the cost. I get it from Natural Grocers which unfortunately no longer does online selling and shipping, but they're growing into more and more locations and states all the time. They were founded about five years before I was born by an amazing woman who I have heard started out door-to-door, then opened her first store only about a half hour's drive from where I was growing up in the mountains west of Denver, Colorado.

I just thought it would be fun to toss that out there. I wish you best of luck with your new endeavor with the products you're now advising people about and able to distribute, and encourage people to follow out to Lulu's website.

And what is the toothpaste you've found that's worked so well restoring teeth, as you've said, Lulu? And feel free to elaborate about your tonics, no worries! Thanks for your contribution AND for the 'thanks' -- you're most welcome! ~~ Mardy

Lulu's Product Preferences - and a bonus Australian lesson

Thanks Mardy. I didn't want to usurp your page! Yes, the butter/dairy toothpaste idea doesn't sit nicely with me, that's for sure. That's also a cool story about the lady with the wholefoods business. I love it when we are able to finally prove, some 30 years or so down track that we were right after all - unless we are labelled 'lucky' of course..

Anyway, yes - my preferred products. We need to bear in mind that in over 30 years I have slowly worked my way through every product, every practitioner range, my own developments and so forth. Expensive hobby but I never want to recommend what I wouldn't personally use OR have seen bring about optimum results with my own eyes.

I have followed a number of health experts over the years, who have helped me out of some tight spots with difficult cases - these include Phillip Day from the UK, Robert Young from the US and Tom Mower from the US. It is Tom's research that turned my work upside down circa 2000.

He doesn't just promote products, he doesn't just believe research one way or other. He actually researches existing research, finds holes, improves on what is already here. And then he sets about the best way to isolate and concentrate, then synergistically combine for best effect.

When I first heard about his work I was less than impressed. Surely if it was that good I'd have heard of it? So I did what I usually do - trial them personally at home, then on cases for whom I had no answers and medicine had no answers. One by one the most tricky cases were returning to vital health once again.

That included the fact that my clinic became a chronic ill health, auto immune and allergy type speciality by default based purely on the huge influx of cases with these issues. On a limited budget (as in Zero funding haha) I managed to work the non toxic personal care along with premium health support into what I already did (I have my own homeopathic range that I was pretty happy using as the number one choice) and before long the word was spreading.

Amongst situations I manage to overcome? Kidney disease (removed from transplant list), asthma, cancers, diabetes, chronic fatigue (which I now specialise in)/lyme/fibro, allergies, IBS, heart disease and much more. All without outside help, just by detoxing the home and rebuilding at a cellular level.

So, for all personal care, including toothpaste, I use Tom's range - Sisel. It is made in the US and believe me, as the queen of skeptics, I was not won over easily. This toothpaste actually remineralises - amazing stuff. It contains stabilised chlorine dioxide which, with one step removes toxicity and is food grade safe. It neutralises household odours (in his Organicleanse) and sterilises enough for me to use it in my lab work.

He has developed a product titled Triangle of Life - this is the basis for all health maintenance and building. It is my go-to protocol base for ALL auto immune disorders and I am yet to see one case fail. My testimonies for this protocol (along with Alkaline diet and adjuvant therapies for recovery) keep piling up.

I really need to add here that as most of my patients have been low income earners (chronic illness sufferers) I have gone to the point of bankruptcy to ensure they can afford treatment, even if I needed to do it for free. To find an ethical company that not only allows me to prescribe what my patients can access at wholesale prices and also receive a monthly return/reward to put towards next orders, but many to even access them for free, I can't even put a value on that.

The testimonies can be checked out on my blog http://chrysalisintegratedhealth.org - they are life changing. As someone who was pretty happy with her practice prior to this, I can truly say even someone who is healthy will benefit by following the guidelines as established by the Mowers. It's holistic - and tackles all angles of our health.

Oh Mardy, PS I say eh a lot too - it's like Australia's second favourite word. You guys have it so wrong thanks to movies, as far as us talking about shrimps on barbies (NO ONE does that!) or horrible jokes about dingoes. We all say eh at the end of a question, or to give it emphasis. Unless like me you grew up with indigenous kids and then you use the word "unna" (which means the same as "eh")

I almost forgot, the link with the toxic home stories, information on personal care (including my preferred toothpaste), testimonies on the extreme cases now experiencing full health, the Triangle of Life - Spectramaxx (fulvates for nutrient absorption, superfoods, elementals, anti oxidants, vitamins), Fucoydon (arguably the most studied and effective anti inflammatory on the planet) and Eternity (cellular/DNA healing, anti ageing) - and much more.     http://chrysalis.mysisel.com/en/AU/home.htm

Mardy's Note: Thanks, Lulu -- that's good you give us a little Aussie lesson from down under there in Oz, eh? Canadians do the 'eh' thing as well, and it seeped into some of the northern US border area's vernacular too. I spent a few years, while I was getting into and in the occupational therapy program at Colorado State University, with a significant other who was a nice guy from around Toronto, Canada, so I picked it up then in addition to my ex husband's family was from Minnesota and some in his family said it. I remember when I met his father it was like being around someone where English was their second language, I could barely understand him -- had to watch his lips and there was a pause while I processed what he said. I had the same thing with a fellow OT who was raised in the area around New Orleans. It's like 'take the marbles out of your mouth!' -- haha. Hopefully Sisel has a tincture for that! Grins.

I really appreciate your addition to this thread, thank you, Lulu!

Re: 3 Step, 3 Ingredient Tonic for "Grate" Overall and ...

The apple cider vinegar will not harm your teeth if you drink it in Marc's joint cocktail. Acid must remain on the teeth for a longer perior of time than just swallowing a liquid. The worst offenders of acid causing damage to the enamel of your teeth are lemons and limes when people have a habit of sucking on them. This keeps the acid on the teeth for a longer period of time. Otherwise lemons and limes are fine and good for you.

Remember the old Folk Remedy from Dr. Jarvis to put 2 fingers of ACV in a glass and fill with water to sip when eating to help improve digestion.

And What Jim Says ^: VERY Similar to an Alan Jolly, RPh Topic

Hey Jim! So nice to see you popped by yesterday and added this. While I love it when the experts vary a bit in their opinions, as it reminds everyone there are lot of GRATE opinions and maybe different best answers for different people, I also like it when two or more experts agree or say the same thing. In this case, without having known perhaps that a while back Alan Jolly, RPh, ND of ITC Pharmacy had said something very similar, but a little different. And how cool it is you knew of all these old 'legends', and in some cases personally knew them, from what seeps out when I'm fortunate enough to hear you talking in person.

Here's what Alan said in the forum on the gut/gastro-intestinal (and a link to it so you can see what else he said and other things in that forum:

There's another key to wellness that's on the list too, and not far behind!  How many people do you know taking some sort of “Purple Pill” ... some brand names are Zantac or Pepcid.  The pills are designed to  “control” acid stomach.

Would it surprise you to know that almost ALL of those people have too little stomach acid rather than toomuch? If you are one of these people or know someone who is, suggest they take an empty bottle and mix 1/3 part apple cider vinegar and 2/3 parts water. By taking an ounce or two AFTER each meal, within a few days of having this “acid mixture” after a meal, it’s likely the “acid blocker” won't be needed anymore.

The really cool part is that although apple cider vinegar is an acid, when you take it to aid your digestion, your body begins to alkalize as it metabolizes the vinegar at the cellular level. These effects are good, healthful "functional" things (meaning going to the underlying cause of a symptom", instead of blocking the acid that your body needs with pills of one kind or another.

Different approaches from different perspectives in the medical world, ours is from the more holistic/functional approach which is the reason our information 'fits' so well here at Lumigrate.com.  I hope this piece has been helpful to you and you'll see in my signature below how to find our website, email me, or find us on Facebook.  I hope you do, and that you maintain or find the level of wellness you are seeking!

~Allan Jolly, R. Ph

Here's the link to the topic, he also talks about the #1 bit of advise he gives people who say 'what's the #1 thing you tell everyone basically' -- this about vinegar and water is the #2 thing, basically.

The Daniel Plan as a Resource, Tons of Info at their Website

To support this thread, and someone who has fibromyalgia diagnosed for 20 years at this point who told me "I didn't know where to start with 'detoxing'", I really like the information that has accumulated and been provided at the website of The Daniel Plan. That is Pastor Warren and Doctors Amen and Hyman's collaborative project that had a best selling book at the launch. I'd sensed tensions between them when they were on their press tour and I wasn't really sure what was up with them, and how it was going to end up with the collaboration so I held off with suggesting them as a place to go for the Lumigrate YOUsers.

But it's safe to say at this point, it's a sound resource. Here's a link to a topic from Dr Hyman about Toxic Waste in the Body and what to do about it. You'll see, it's integrative of mind, body, spirit (which is Hyman for body, Amen for brain/mind (which are different things but --- close enough, LOL), and Warren for spirit).
