It Couldn't Hurt Part 4
Hello my dawlinks! My apologies for the long absence. My friend Esther, you remember her from the first thing I wrote? Well, she wasn't feeling well so I went to take care of her and Marvin. Oy vey! Marvin. Such a mensch as I've never met. I thought my husband was a wonderful man but Marvin was willing to do everything and anything necessary for Esther. My dawlinks, at first I thought it was wonderful. They've been married for 52 years and he's still so in love with her that he slaves over her. It was beautiful and brought tears to my eyes.
After an hour, a light bulb went on in my head. My grandson would be very angry if I wasn't specific about what type of light bulb so let's say it was one of those new fangled energy savers, you know one of those curly Q things, so it came on slowly. Esther isn't feeling well because she's not moving around enough maybe? Marvin's bushed becaused all he does is run around for her. Esther's self esteem is dred (Yiddish for in the ground) and she looks like a shlubb (again with the Yiddish which means unkept). In the meantime Marvin is wasting away to next to nothing, poor man and was at the end of his rope which is why I was called. Now listen Kindlech (children), I'm no miracle worker but I've been known to pull a few interesting things out of my little hand bag once in a while.
So we start from the beginning like that Julie Andrews woman said in the Sound Of Music, great movie by the way, you should see it. Little victories dawlinks, thats all, little victories. So at this point you're probably shaking your head and wondering if your Yenta has lost her mind, no? It's simple. Think for a moment, you cheer on a team when you're watching them on your TV and they can't hear you. Why don't you cheer yourself on? So? You want an example? Of course you do.
Did you brush your teeth? "yea" You say that outloud and in the mirror. After you get out of bed, "I did it!" For every little detail you accomplish, you give yourself a cheer. You might feel silly about it, even if you're by yourself but trust your Yenta, dawlinks, it'll make a difference in how you feel about yourself. It's helping Esther and Marvin is finally had a chance to plotz on the couch and rest. He's catching up on Dr. Oz. Thanks be to G-d for Tivo.
Go on, give it try. You've read this, now give yourself a cheer. It couldn't hurt!

I was in this Forum looking at what's all here because we'll be having a NEW spiritual writer joining us soon (maybe even today!) and we were communicating about where and what and how and who ... and of course that brought me to referring to Yenta. I noticed that Yenta wrote this on December 7, 2009, so today is 12/7/10 and I thought I'd repost this on facebook since it's just ALWAYS good to see Yenta's face! And what she writes is so timeless and is good 'year after year!'. THANK YOU, Yenta! For giving us so much to think about, laugh about, and an example of how we weave and integrate things at Lumigrate.com -- the Grate Group is quite something!
