"Dharma is what you can't help but do", I heard Simon Chokoisky say, when giving the overview of the five dharma types -- the warrier, the educator, the merchant, the laborer, and the outsider.  He uses the male / female archetype -- things become simpler when you figure out which type you are.  "Oh, I'm an educator, so this is what I'm supposed to do".  "I still get it wrong, so often, so it's not a magic bullet", despite knowing his type, he says.  He talks about destiny and free will and having to do the work.  His choices were limited, he shares, by what sex he was born, what country he was born -- we are born into limitation.  Dharma type tells you what your best choices are, for your type.

Your dharma karma, in the next lifetime, was a question about midway on the interview I'm overviewing to start (and end) this topic.  Do your dharma and then don't worry about your karma, is ultimately true. He uses modern movies and musician / bands to help explain his concepts, I'm noticing in these two interviews I've studied so far.  The methaphor of raindrops and how to get through things and get home dry, is how they end the interview before they go into how to obtain the book which they were focusing on which was related to the five dharma types. (So the very last segment, below, will give you the link to New Connection Radio at the book publisher's website where this 11-12 minute video is easily found for listening / viewing.)

For anyone finding this topic who is unfamiliar with how I create topics and what my focus is, I utilize The Lumigrate YOU! Model as the cornerstone of my work with individuals, and through Lumigrate as the extension of myself to educate on the Internet.  (If you're wanting assistance as a learner, please go to the About tab and my phone and email will be there -- currently what's at the Contact Us is out of date and needs expertise beyond my abilites to change.           Imagine ME! assisting YOU! to be YOU

So the topics that I'm creating currently and in the recent months and year or so are 'switching it up' from my older topics, and I integrate / weave (as our logo respresents) 'how to be a good wellness information researcher' into what I provide.  Ergo, you .... YOU!.... can presumably boost your effectiveness finding information on ANY subject by picking up the concepts.

I finally had an extended period of time where I could delve into the massive collection of videos at Gaia TV (formerly Gaiam, it was started by the yoga products and information company, and is located in Boulder, Colorado), so I decided to get a membership.  They were having a special through the end of the year, so I was naturally pleased to have such economically good timing.

I'd learned of Gaia indirectly from my studying 'down the rabbit hole' in 2013 about 'chemtrails' and 'geoengineering', which leads you into 'terraforming' and a massive amount of information about what we commonly call ETs, UFOs, etc.  David Willcock was one of the people who would come up frequently on my YouTube 'suggestions for you', and I'm very glad for that.  Being scrutinous about who's who on the Internet is critically important, and developing your ability to figure out one way or another, or via combinations of ways, who's legitimate and who is not.  "Disinformation" is the name of the game -- and that generally means you're getting partially truthful information to lull you into thinking you're getting the truth, but then they either leave out a lot of information, or twist information -- or both.

It's a very simple game plan anyone can understand -- those with a lot of funds to have a lot of people and technology to be discrediting people who ARE telling the truth, can create a lot of content on the Internet to dissuade people wanting THE TRUTH.  I realized that I had to 'get out of my head' (which is very dominant and life-long I've worked on developing other skills and abilities) about it and get into my intuition about it.

Which lead me to seeing Regina Meredith either for the first time, or for the first time with the increasing clarity I was/am experiencing.  I had found her before getting the Gaia subscription, via an interview she did on a non subscription site that does talk radio type podcasts.  I'd looked at her website, said 'wow', and then saw she, too, was a big part of Gaia in recent years.  After having created a business in the past that was similar to it or to my little Lumigrate, that lead to her being at Gaia.

I am NEVER annoyed by her interviewing, which is rare, often I'm annoyed by those with shows, what they do or don't ask, they'll interrupt good trains of thought by the guest -- she keeps things on track and yet lets it be a collaboration.  So I ended up watching tons of her shows.

And then I explored the documentaries and movies.  Tons of great stuff there, too.  Somehow they lead you around to various things on 'autoplay' and what I was finding was every day, without exception, what I'd spoken to someone about the previous day would come my way in either a full episode about that topic, or be a key part of an hour long program!  I love 'synchronicity' (David Willcock has written a book recently about it, tons out there you can hear from him about that (or watch) on free places on the Internet).

And today I would wake up and be hearing the interview which I've provided the information from, below, about dharma -- our soul contract, and the interplay that has with all things on Earth, essentially.  Simon Chokoisky was the guest, and I was just really drawn into the interview.

As I've said all along since Lumigrate launched in March 2009, we are all one, we are interconnected in ways that Western sources have lead us to NOT learn about.  But leaders in the world have thankfully persisted in coming to The United States and expanding what is here for us to learn in person .... and then also on the Internet.  Similar to what, a decade ago right now in Grand Junction, Colorado, a group I was included with for the startup education / marketing component, occurred, because we had the others' shoulders to stand on, or their footsteps that had broken trail to follow in.

And similarly, leaders from the western world of medicine have persisted in going elsewhere in the world to seed and grassroots and fluorish in due time, perhaps, organizations to bring what we have here that's beneficial to those places.  When I had my massive chronic fatigue collapse in the late 1980s, the ENT specialist suggested to me by my primary care doctor was in India setting up a clinic.  I'd track him down in recent years to find he's there full time now.

My health problem reversal was set back a couple of months because of his being out of the country, but thankfully I persisted in waiting until he was back and went BACK to have an appointment with him.  His partner had totally missed the boat, despite that my PCP had said 'they're all aware in that practice what this is as they're being taught by National Jewish in Denver, for our region up here in northern Colorado (I lived in Fort Collins from 1978 to 1996), but his accent is less so he's easier to understand -- they're all from India."

I was desperate for help at the time and didn't have any problems with Indian accents as I'd worked from age 19 to 21 or so in the Mathematics / Statistics academic department at Colorado State University and had even been invited to dinner at one of the Indian professor's house.  Every year they'd have all the administrative staff over for dinner.  For a hillbilly from the mountains where the show "South Park" is partially inspired, as Trey Parker was a decade behind me in the schools I attended, and my mother taught at (elementary), that was a big opening of my world view!

Then my very savvy PCP, who thankfully knew who to refer me to, and told me there was an outbreak of it in Fort Collins at the time (which isn't documented in media anywhere like the Tahoe outbreak a few years before), would go to the Middle East because he had become Muslim.  And I'd have to start over with a new PCPhysician, who would be good, as well, have a different set of information he was 'big on' and 'current on' and be the right guy for the right time for me.  It's such a process!

One such example of health innovators from around the world 'integrating' with us in the United States/"West", is in Colorado's neighboring state of New Mexico, and in the city my parents met in the 1950s, Albuquerque.  My mother loved the area, and I'd practice driving with a learner's permit shopping for real estate in the area, for which to leave me for the times she foresaw ahead where we'd have to be growing food and being self-sufficient. That would initially work out, and then not, and crush the last of her hopes that would fuel her through the difficulties and challenges of her life, and she'd pass over / die sooner than later as a result.

The Ayurvedic Institute was founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1984 by Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, Ayurvedic Physician. They moved in 1986 to be based in the high desert country of Albuquerque, New Mexico at the foot of the Sandia Mountains. That was the last year of my mother's life, she passed in March 1987.  I was intrigued that they'd made a move from Santa Fe to Albuquerque, and have known people who were affiliated with New Mexico higher education in the last decade, and it seemed that it's with a lot of innovation and 'leading edge' of progress.

So this was very interesting for me to find that Simon Chokoisky was an integral part of The Ayurvedic Institute.  Here's what's findable in the many items I found when Searching at my browser on Simon Chokoisky's name (and nothing else with it). First, where I found out via being part of Gaia via subscription (which I highly recommend doing -- perhaps ask for it as a gift due to it's economical price point, if you're without a lot of funds for extras and can't juggle priorities on cutting back on something to pay for it yourself)(see all the tips I weave in?):

Open Minds with Regina Meredith

Sex, Love and Dharma with Simon Chokoisky

February 2016      S6:Ep8       58 mins
Guest: Simon Chokoisky

According to Simon Chokoisky, each of us comes into the world to fulfill our dharma, or soul contract. With that, we will build many relationships, some lasting a lifetime. To better learn how to navigate these relationships, we need to understand our own dharma and how the five dharma types work and communicate with each other. This interview with Regina Meredith was originally webcast February 11, 2016.

Simon Chokoisky, author of The Five Dharma Types, and creator of Decoding Your Life Map with Vedic Astrology DVD series, teaches Sanskrit and Medical Astrology at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also travels widely giving seminars and runs a private consulting business based on his trainings in Vedic life mapping and Vedic astrology.

The Ayurvedic Institute

The Ayurvedic Institute was founded in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1984 by Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, Ayurvedic Physician. Since 1986, we have been based in the high desert country of Albuquerque, New Mexico at the foot of the Sandia Mountains.

At the Ayurvedic Institute, we teach traditional Ayurvedic Medicine and provide ancient Indian therapies to help heal and maintain the quality and longevity of life. As a science of self-healing, Ayurveda encompasses diet and nutrition, lifestyle, meditation, postures, breathing exercises and medical herbs along with cleansing and rejuvenation programs for healing body, mind, and spirit.

Our Education Programs draw students from around the world and from many professions and backgrounds. Students repeatedly express how transformational their time here is, highlighting the authenticity and depth of our offerings and the care and expertise of our faculty lead by Vasant Lad, with his more than 40 years of experience. Whether students are here for a weekend or our two-year program, their experience is one of unfolding awareness and self-healing that supports them in their personal lives and professional practices.

Our Panchakarma Programs further the mission of the Institute by providing the traditional cleansing therapies of Ayurveda accompanied by diet and lifestyle recommendations and support for clients. The preparation period and methods in advance of panchakarma can provide a fulcrum point for personal transformation. By following post-panchakarma recommendations and adopting of lifestyle changes and practices, the client can embark upon a healthier and more balanced life.

Our store and online shopping provide Ayurvedic and Western herbs, audio and video tapes from our programs, books, incense, specialty foods, and a variety of Ayurvedic and other products.

Our Purpose

The Ayurvedic Institute is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that teaches the principles and practices of Ayurveda, the ancient science of life. We provide authentic education in a supportive environment that encourages the integration of Ayurveda by individuals into their daily living and by health care professionals into their clinical practices.

Educational Philosophy

Ayurveda is a healing art and a science. Descending from Charaka, Sushruta, and Vagbhata, it is one of apprenticeship in which the student learns from the teacher, who shares knowledge and experiences to assist the student in developing a conceptual framework and fundamental working knowledge.

The Ayurvedic Institute reflects the teaching traditions of ancient India. This tradition gives emphasis to the oral transmission of knowledge by being present with the teacher. It is taught, as the Vedic tradition emphasizes, with practical examples and stories, keeping the integral aspects of the body, mind, and spiritual components intact. It requires soul searching, faith, and trust without proof or guarantee. In its traditional form, the student is expected to trust the teacher to present the subjects in the manner the teacher feels are appropriate.

For each of us to develop as practitioners, experiencing this tradition and all its components helps to expand our inner awareness.

Goals

The integration of Ayurveda with modern medicine, yoga, Jyotish (Vedic astrology), other healing disciplines, and the individual Self to bring about total health, awareness, and harmony.

It is the dream of Vasant Lad and the goal of the Ayurvedic Institute to be able to offer a complete program of Ayurvedic study. This program would be similar in content to that taught in the traditional Ayurvedic colleges in India.

Organization

The Ayurvedic Institute was founded in 1984 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as a 501(c)(3) educational, non-profit corporation. The Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws and Board meeting minutes are open to inspection by any interested person with sufficient advance notice. The Institute is governed by a Board of Directors and corporate officers, whose directives are carried out by Institute staff members.

I found it particularly interesting that they were working on a documentary film about him, and they reached their funding goal.  The funding they needed for the documentary was a bit more than what I put in of my own funds, an inheritance I received by 'surprise' in early December 2007, allowing me to create the website I'd been starting to envision earlier that year.

Now, I want to present that I popped onto a lot of website links about Simon which were fine but not really revealing in terms of who he is 'accepted by' for his dealings, until I found where his books are published.

Here's the link -- I suggest you take the link and check out what's at this website, it's very interesting how they grew and grew, they have a very long topic at the About tab which I really enjoyed.  But I like long and thorough, as you likely can tell by my topic at Lumigrate!
