Deirdre Rawlings, ND, PhD

Dr. Dee, as she has come to be affectionately referred to, is the founder of Nutri-Living and author of Foods that Help Win the Battle Against Fibromyalgia, (Fairwinds Press, July 2008), an e-book that is over 200 pages (new in 2011) and a forthcoming cookbook to accompany the best selling book by Jacob Teitelbaum, MD Beat Sugar Addiction Now!  Clearly, she is a powerhouse of information and inspiration regarding your path to a healthy life-style and overall well-being, which can be fully appreciated by a visit to her "Foods for Fibromyalgia" website at www.foodsforfibromyalgia.com.

People today more than ever, are with a diversity of resources, which boil down to time, energy and money.  I suggest that people consider looking at what Deirdre offers, as there are really nice overviews that she gives as 'gifts' for having registered at the website, books, e-books, series of coaching sessions bunded together, individual coaching and even corporate consulting!  You never know when someone is reading here at Lumigrate and is in a position to provide a gift to another business or to their employees, and I will hope this forum catches their attention.  I also think just importantly is the concerned friend or family member who might have very limited financial resources but wants to tell someone they care: they can be giving the gift of health by turning them onto Deirdre's website because, like Lumigrate, what is for no cost is a treasure trove.

In the past years, beginning in the fall of 2009, Deirdre and Lumigrate/I had an ongoing an close collaboration in order to get her well established on Lumigrate and then she stops back to update information as she wishes and sees fit.  I feel we both appreciate as having brought our work educating people about fibromyalgia and chronic illness together in a 'synergistic' way, which  has been to everyone's benefit.

We share common beliefs in may regards of what we're accomplishing, how, and why, and also respect that we also don't do everything in the same manner always. Deidre will always hold the title at Lumigrate as our first major contributor and supporter in the Forums, where our followers in the consumer/public labeled us the "Grate Group".

Our first International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day Resulted in Collaboration

When the International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day was announced for 201 and Lumigrate's podcasting studio was not yet completed, Deirdre gladly hopped up to the plate to collaborate when requested and took the lead on conducting an interview and hosting it on her website with two other Lumigrate experts at that time, Drs Jerry Rand and Marc Spurlock (MDs).  We both wanted to provide something lasting and of high quality for the people with an interest in fibromyalgia following our work.  Everyone who's watching the numbers has been impressed by how many Lumigrate users have gone to the pages about the interview in our Forums area, and I can only imagine with the people who have gone directly to her website and come in from all the other links around, it has helped a LOT of people. In the first six months it was at just over 2,000 views just from Lumigrate users, and at a year the total was at 5,000!

I so very much appreciate that she eagerly put such a project on her schedule and conducted the project with the professionalism and seriousness she did. She is wholeheartedly committed to her projects and passionate about her information about holistic health concepts with the foundation of foods and the body's ability to help people stay or get well.  I look forward to any future collaborations as they are adding up synergistically to help many people.

I hope every person has followed the link to her website and not only listened to the Three Doctors Interview about Integrative Approaches to Fibromyalgia, but thoroughly scoured her information reserves there and has gotten on board with her comprehensive array of programs and products for learning and finding new ways to better health if they're so inclined.  Her book Food That Helps Win the Battle Against Fibromyalgia is fabulous and has been so appealing to everyone I've shown it to, I have to say 'no, sorry you can't borrow it as I use it all the time'.  Then I direct them to how to purchase a copy of their own and naturally this is a top gift idea of mine for anyone. About 95% of people who I have shown it to don't have a particular interest in fibromyalgia, I might add, so it's a wonderful book for ANYONE, not just those with fibromyalgia because the information and concepts truly apply to EVERYONE. The photographs are beautifully done and many remark about the little 'at a glance' guide about the key health benefits of the ingredients used in the recipe.

We can all talk the talk, but to walk the walk we need a good pair of shoes.

So THANK YOU, Deirdre Rawlings, for your support of Lumigrate and of me as a person and fellow health care professional.

Since your website ALSO had your information so wonderfully presented, I'm going to leave off here with your details from your website to get people started reading about you and hopefully headed your way on the Internet by following the links provided if they so choose.

Thank You for the Opportunity to Contribute and Serve

Mardy,

I am delighted to be your first national provider on LUMIGRATE and it is a great honor and pleasure to do so.

The work that you are doing for the fibromyalgia community and in helping to raise awareness on the integrative medical and health model approaches are truly wonderful and I wholeheartedly support you in your efforts on this goal.

One of the most important and essential lessons I have learned along the path to enjoying a life well lived is how much our health plays a major role in all this.  I have come to know that in order to grow and expand, it is necessary that we take responsibility for attaining health as our highest priority, and no one can give it to you or do it for you.  It is not something that can be bought and we must value ourselves and raise our awareness and our self-worth as high as we can if we are to experience being the best that we can be for ourselves, our families, and our planet.  And health has everything to do with this.

Oftentimes this means taking the road less traveled and maintaining our vigilance and patience as we seek to raise ourselves up for something better than settling for instant gratification. Knowing that patience yields many benefits and rewards, and improving our own health, our education and our awareness is an essential step along the journey.

These are all growth experiences and there are no failures, only lessons that serve to expand us and strengthen and support us in becoming what we set out to be, do, and have, and to become more of who we truly are. We must 'be the change' that we wish to see and experience and it starts with our inner health and expands out from there.

Thank you for the opportunity to contribute and serve; I look forward to doing much more with you.

Health, love, and support

Dr. Dee
