I was deeply moved by a woman posting in a group on Facebook, which was about genetics and chronic illnesses that are not so much in the cancer realm, relating that her son has a very rare type of cancer (as in less than 20 cases in the world), so organized medicine does not have solutions since there aren't a lot of people to benefit from all the costs to research and develop treatments.

She felt that his illness was related to hers, which I am presuming has to do with gene mutations that affect the detoxification / methylation pathways due to the group she was in; these mutations are leading people to have more symptoms from things that load them down such as Lyme / borrelia (which is apparently occurring new in 2M people/year in the US currently, hence is already lurking in a majority of Americans -- and this is similar to many other countries in the world). Naturally, one can see how they'd think there was a connection with the health issues a child had. She was upbeat, pleasant and said that she's been like a madwoman tearing around trying to research. People compared it to Lorenzo's Oil what she is trying to do.

Someone suggested this link and I found it to be a really great resource about what naturopaths can address, and about many things that are recommended elsewhere for many other things that affect the body (including the brain) besides cancer.  So here's the link: Please notice the very long reference list showing how much this naturopathic doctor referred to when doing his research for this article.

For those interested in "groovy" local education and networking for those uniquely talented LumiGRATE experts located in my own back yard, "LumiGRATE Groove of the Grand Valley" is a Facebook page to join. (Many who have joined are beyond our area but like to see the Groovy information! We not only have FUN, we are learning about other providers we can be referring patients to and 'wearing a groove' to each other's doors -- or websites/home offices!) By covering some of the things we do, including case examples, it reinforces the concepts at Lumigrate.com as well as making YOU feel that you're part of a community. Which you ARE at Lumigrate!
