veterans

I write this on the 11th hour (mountain time), of the 11th day of the 11th month, 2021.  

In 2020 and 2021, I was to be re-connected with the Veteran's Affairs / V.A. system.  Soon, I'd be reconnected to a lot of things.  So much so, I wondered if my life was wrapping up. It was a time to look back and reflect on a lot of things, as I simultaneously moved ahead.

Two months ago, my sister, her husband and I were joined by our friends and family to celebrate a life that had passed on Labor Day -- that of my father.  It was a beautiful fall day in a chapel at the top of a mountain outside of Denver, Colorado with pine trees out the door and window and an interesting history of people collecting to come pay their respects.  The pace and theme of the service had been kept very much like a music program because it was put together by music teachers (sister and her husband), with my more serious piece interjected which reflected what I do for a  read more »

In having a relaxing Memorial Day weekend, in what had to be the most perfect weather ever here with bluebird skies yesterday and today, I was watering the garden thinking about how the idea of community gardens had been resonating for me this year.   read more »
