Being a "Take-Charge Patient" (aka 'proactive' or 'active patient', like our YOU model 'foundation' represents). Education, organization of resources, and providers to assist you if needed to effectively navigate the challenging medical terrain in the United States today. The LEGAL aspect of being prepared (Wills, Power of Attorney - General/Medical, Living Wills/Advanced Directives). The FINANCIAL aspects: tax savings, insurances, prepayment of funeral plans, memorial funds and nonprofits, and 'concierge providers' who do not take insurance. The biggest gift you can give your loved ones is being prepared if/when they need to help YOU, and vice versa. (PRINT/email this if you think it might help your loved one help THEM with the process! An ounce of prevention/pound of cure!)

Since Mardy had life and professional experience totaling dozens of years prior to family illness with end of life issues, it was very helpful to her family and father and his team. This forum is for YOU to have that benefit of information as well.

At some point, everyone "deals with" the end of life of themselves or others. That might be suddenly or we might know it's "the home stretch", a.k.a. "end of life". OR it might be 'just' a change in function that an illness or injury brings that is not immediately "life-threatening", but IS "life-changing". Find information here on processing these complex situations with ourselves and others.
