Hello my dawlinks!  It's your Yenta, you were expecting maybe Barbara Streisand?  So I just get to New York, settled in, cleaned, reaquainted with my neighbors in the building, the pace of the city; when my phone rings and it's my friend, Meril from Postville, Iowa.  Yes, kindeleh there's an actual town by that name.  As a matter of fact, there's a book out about the town and the people in it if you feel like reading something unusual.  Very interesting way of life these people have.  Buy the book, a little education couldn't hurt.   read more »

Lent is over, but lifesytle changes made during Lent can last a lifetime.

Yesterday was the last day of the Lenten Season. Lent is a Christian observance consisting of prayer, fasting and relection upon the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Lent starts on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday. I set lofty goals for myself at the beginning of Lent and although I have made a few mistakes along the way, overall, it has been good.  read more »

20/20 Is NOT Perfect Vision

Parents feel helpless when their frustrated children cry, “I can’t read! I can’t do math! I can’t hit a baseball!” Maybe the child is trying to say, “I can’t see!”  Children may have 20/20 eyesight but still suffer from vision problems.  They can read an eye chart just fine.
