I'm Back -- Here's Why I Have Been Missing

I'm writing this on the 21st of March, 2020. It's a Saturday. It's been an unusual week for all in the modern world.

Last Saturday, I realized it was time to get on top of the rapidly changing information about the pandemic, more so than I had been. When two people, younger than I. who are or were neighbors to where I live or have lived, contacted me within 24 hours offering to shop or do whatever I might need help with, I knew I needed to tune in.

I'd need to shop -- not just for myself, but for all those who depend on me in one way or another. I actually went to the grocery store on Sunday before 8 a.m. I did this after getting the overview of what infection control measures would be prudent. Since no cases had yet been reported in our area, I had some time to get that part right. Which was good -- gloves were hard to come by. But I came by them by early in the week.

O'Rio had been to several veterinary clinics in the last two years, which had my email address -- and by mid week, on the same day, they all emailed about how they would proceed in light of the virus concerns. The clinic he has an appointment with later in the month said we are to call when arriving and they'll come out to the vehicle -- and go from there.

O'Rio is to have acupuncture at his next appointment, and I see no reason why that cannot take place on the tailgate, because I frequently massage him there. If they have a power supply, the electrical gadget that is added to some of the needles can be applied as well. It's been instrumental in his improvements the past month since badly re-injuring his right back leg in early February. He continues to allow me to learn through him.

Mostly what I have learned from having O'Rio since he was 12, in the fall of 2016, is that I'm not adjusting suddenly to being asked to stay home as much as possible. My life naturally evolved that way since becoming his care giver in 2015, and moreso once he was mine, and I was his official human.

Buying a prescription medicine most cost effectively through the pharmacy at my Kroger market was funny -- I had to sign with a stylus on a screen saying he was my minor ..... I have a photo of it, I'll hope to get it transferred here soon. I also hope to supply some highlight information I've gotten from long-time friends on Facebook who are advocates, valid as far as I can tell, and allow Lumigrate to be of assistance in this time. I hope it doesn't put the website at risk for being censored somehow. I guess we'll see.

Thankfully, I was able to purchase a used computer at a good price -- my work horse Apple had died an expensive death in early 2019. By summer of 2019, someone had included an old (very old) laptop in trade for helping them wind down their household and move on to a new job, a new state, a new chapter in their life. But it is so old it can't communicate with the website. This newer used one can! And so, just as I was unable to use the Apple at the library that worked, due to it's being closed until further notice, I was able to purchase a computer.

The Source / God, it appears to me, at work, and demonstrating it with timing, perhaps. And so, I'll close for now, explaining my absence from new blogs or other content, and letting you know I hope to be back in the saddle providing new content on a regular basis.

Until then, keep your head on your shoulders. Slow down, think about what you're doing with your hands. Wash them, properly. Often. There's much more we can do. Until then, I'll be sharing good things I find on my Facebook, so perhaps try there. Gratefully ~~ Mardy

PS/ Editing July 5, 2020, it took until now to get a computer that has the software to properly communicate with the website, so over 1,000 reads of this occurred when it was looking like a run on sentence.  I've edited to break it up.  I'll be polishing it more, and going from here.  Thank you for your patience.
