Dr. Mercola's emailed newsletter which was in my mailbox this morning caught my eye because the topic of what to do with your skin related to sun exposure has caused debate on our facebook pages when I have promoted going out in the SUN, or what I call 'The Vitamin D Machine'. I'm posting the link here for YOU to follow if you'd like to learn what he has to say, and I'll be letting Ann Garrity from Organic Divas know it is here, as well as our other aesthetics/skin experts in the Grate Group and ask them for their input on this VERY IMPORTANT topic.
In watching the Search words that are used every day when people come to Lumigrate.com, I become aware of what people's concerns and interests are, and last fall and winter it was clear the topic of vitamin D was HUGE, which is GRATE because it's been something the public has generally not been aware of which I believe has contributed greatly to the 45% of Americans with documented/diagnosed chronic illness. Obviously that's a huge number, and sadly it's likely underreported when you factor in the people who are on their way with a 'chronic illness' and aren't aware of it YET.
On a final note, I want to address something related to his selling products which he promotes. I am fortunate to know someone who 'has him on speed dial', as well as someone who has interacted with him related to his endorsing their book. I also more closely know some tremendous medical providers both locally and nationally who have 'been at this' longer than I have (progressive medical services and products), and the reality of 'it', the business environment today, is that you HAVE to deal with products in order to make enough money to support your business' overhead when providing services. So I plea with you because it's SO IMPORTANT TO GET GOOD PRODUCTS INTO YOU AND ON YOUR BODY AND IN YOUR HOME, don't 'baby out with the bathwater' just because someone is promoting a product which they make revenue on. Rather, I suggest you consider how to budget your time and energy resources so that you can make informed decisions. And as I say over and over, also learn how to deep breathe and be centered because inside of each of us is the wisest person we know, we just need to be able to ask ourselves the question 'is this right?' and 'do I follow this or not?' and go from there.
Why do I "plea" with you on this? It's been my observation the past six months that I have had CANCER cropping up left and right, above and below me. Literally! I've seen the trend over the last year of so many younger people having chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and have asked my experts 'why is this happening, do you suppose' and I've consulted with wise spiritual leaders and basically it boils down to this: It's 2010 and it's been well over 100 years since our modern practices due to the scientific age have changed how we do things with our food sources, what is in our air, water, and soils. And our bodies can compensate only so much and then the barrel is full and spills over into chronic illness (see Videos tab at Lumigrate.com, FREE 20 minute Chronic Illness: Full Barrel Syndrome by Christopher Lepisto, ND for a wonderful visual example of this concept.) Dr. Spurlock uses the analogy of an elevator getting too much weight in it and crashing to the basement.
The solutions are to change what each one of us can, and our biggest power is with our $ in the products and services we seek out and spend, in my opinion. I hope Lumigrate continues to help people find valid, progressive information in a streamlined way and overall we make learning more about health FUN.
