As part of the Lumigrate collaborative effort for raising awareness this year about FMS/CFS, On Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 a very special conversation on Addressing Fibromyalgia's Pain, Insomnia, Fog 'n' Fatigue with Integrative Approaches took place and was recorded and hosted by Deirdre Rawlings, ND, PhD at her website about foods for fibromyalgia. I asked Dr. Rawlings and the MDs, Jerry Rand of Bay Recovery Centers and Marcus Spurlock of Health Rejuvenation Specialists, all featured experts in Lumigrate's Forums, to participate in a collaborative awareness effort for this year's upcoming International Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue/ME Awareness Day on May 12th. I was not surpised but was pleased when all three eagerly agreed and prioritized making the time to rapidly make it happen, as I know how committed we all are to providing solutions through the businesses we have chosen to go into focusing on alleviating or solving chronic pain and fatigue/illness for those we can reach successfully.
This is being made available for FREE to anyone who wants to access the webinar via their computer or MP3. It is a one hour conversation which is very informative and pleasantly done and I encourage you to consider investing your resources of time and energy into listening. We've all invested our time, energy and money to usher our careers in this direction because we see that we have much to bring to the table with solutions from nutrition and spirituality to pharmaceutical interventions and exercise. "Integrative treatment solutions", which in my case with Lumigrate focuses on the occupation of health care through progressive education.

Dr. Jerry Rand specializes in the treatment of Chronic Pain and Addictive Disorders. As the organizer, I got to listen to this as soon as Deirdre was done putting the finishing touches on the file and she shared it with me right away. I went to bed thinking about how wonderful this information is, and hoping that everyone who thinks so spends some time helping us get the information out there to the people who it can benefit. And in getting feedback from the three doctors the next day about what they thought about how it had gone (and they were all very pleased), I noticed something in common: they all are working very hard and took their time to do this, and ALL included something about hoping it gets utilized. Please reward them by at the least writing below here so that they all can come look and see how it helped. Follow them if you found them to be a resource you felt resonated for you, and let them know through a message or email that you have followed them from this event so they know it is something that is working and will then contribute more time, so that we keep this growing and going!
I think Deirdre asked really good questions and everyone was very comfortable and interactive together which is difficult on a three way phone all as you might know, and their professionalism certainly showed. I learned a lot, and was very glad to hear the key points that each doctor brought up, including not to get upset with doctors who don't know what to do for you, it's not their fault. But let's be part of that solution: IF each person who reads the above piece hits the 'Print' button and then faxes or gives it to their provider(s), that will be one more octor who knows as much about it as YOU do now! And think about how many other people benefit from that.

This was a FUNomenal and informative interview with Drs Jerry Rand and Marc Spurlock, which I thoroughly enjoyed participating in. There is a wealth of information to share with everyone here and still more to be gleaned from these two extremely knowledgeable professionals. Thank you to everyone that made this possible. Found a wealth of information that I can use in my journey getting back to being healthy again. Enough information I will also listening to it multiple times. Taking more notes making sure not to miss anything.
Listening I learned about all the blood work , checking for different illnesses that your regular GP will not look for when they run blood work on you. Checking your thyroid, even if it shows to be borderline normal , you still could be having problems. And your hormones as well. This one is a must for me, as I had a hysterectomy fourteen years ago. Also have systems of thyroid not working properly, but yet my levels are okay, when checked by my GP. So, after hearing this I have doctor's appoinments coming up to have this all addressed.
Found it amazing to hear how long it takes your brain to go back to normal after coming off opioid's, that one blew me away. As well as the opioid's could be causing some of the muscle pain, another amazing fact. Although I don't take them on a regular bases, it's amazed me to find this out.
Changes in your diet can help , I'm a believer in this one. I'm more aware of what I am putting into my body. Was very surprised when I cut the sugar and wheat out what a difference it made. Little changes one by one is showing me improvements. Am I completely well, not yet, but with each change I'm getting closer. You have to want change to get change.
I'm hoping others will take time to listen, they will learn something. And take away new information that could put them on the road to recovery. Thanks again for making this available.
